Tang Guoqiang


Tang Guoqiang, born in Qingdao, Shandong, is a Chinese actor and director. He is a class-A actor of National Theatre Company of China and also a member of the Chinese Calligraphy Society, a typecast actor of President Mao. In 1979, by portraying Zhao Yongsheng in Little Flower, he was awarded Outstanding Youth for Creation by the Ministry of Culture, Top 10 TV Performers and National Top 100 Teletricians, and nominated for Best Actor of Golden Eagle and Outstanding Actor of Flying.

In 1985, he entered specialized training class for performing in Beijing Film Academy and then had roles in films include: The Stars Are Bright Tonight, A Long Way to Go, Wreaths at the Foot of the Mountain, etc. In 1988, his films are Go to Moscow, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Yongzheng Dynasty, Kaiguo Linxiu Mao Zedong. In 1998, he was awarded the Best Actor of the 4th China Movie Awards due to The Long March. In 2003, he gained Outstanding Actor of the 22th TV Drama Flying and Golden Eagle Awards.
