2017 Asia Media Summit Held in Qingdao

To promote China’s communication and cooperation with countries in Asia-Pacific region and along the Silk Road in media, and carry forward the Silk Road spirit of “peace and cooperation, openness and inclusiveness, mutual learning, mutual benefit and win-win”, the “2017 Asia Media Summit” (2017AMS), sponsored by Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development and presented by State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of the People’s Republic of China and Qingdao government, was held in Qingdao on June 6 and 7.

Liu Yandong, member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the CPC and vice premier of the state council, attended and addressed the opening ceremony. He said that we should intensify media’s responsibility, promote media cooperation, inject positive energy to the implementation of UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the establishment of human destiny community. With the theme of “new age for Media and global development”, more than 450 representatives from 48 countries and 7 international organizations participated in the summit.
